At Las Jellys we love cocktails and that’s why we want to celebrate World Cocktail Day in the most unexpected way!

There are records of the term ‘cocktail’ dating back to 1798. It was on May 13, 1806, in The Balance and Columbian Repository, a New York state newspaper, that the first written definition of the word appeared. It was in response to a reader’s query about an article asking, “What is a cocktail?” The editor replied, “A cocktail is a stimulating alcoholic beverage composed of some variety of distilled spirit, sugar, water, and bitters.”

This description is the basis of classic cocktail making, hence our tribute to this great day.
